CPA and CFP Jake Crandall says brokers can lower taxes by structuring as an S-corp with a reasonable salary, maximizing the qualified business income deduction, making larger retirement contributions and planning ahead instead of relying on after-the-fact compliance.
Jake Crandall recommends setting aside a share of every commission, often 15% to 25% and more in high-tax cities, so brokers are not cash-strapped when taxes are due.
